Who writes CaseSwitch, why tools run in the browser, and how we keep guides original for readers and publishers.
CaseSwitch is an independent site of text, code, font, image, and random utilities. We built it so you can change case, format JSON, or convert an image without creating an account or sending a draft to a converter farm.
Who we are
The CaseSwitch editorial team designs the converters and writes the guides. We are practitioners who format docs, APIs, and social copy for a living — not a content mill spinning the same three sentences across a hundred URLs. Each tool page explains what the transform actually does, when it is the wrong tool, and how it differs from its neighbors.
Privacy-first by design
Many online converters upload whatever you paste. That is a poor default for API keys, unpublished articles, and HR exports. CaseSwitch runs the common transforms in your browser with JavaScript and, for images, the Canvas API. After a page has loaded, you can usually disconnect from the network and keep converting. Local storage on this device may remember a homepage draft; it is not a cloud sync product.
What you can do
Switch sentence case, title case, UPPER CASE, and developer styles (camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case). Format JSON, HTML, and Markdown. Encode Base64. Generate passwords and UUIDs with the Web Crypto API where the browser provides it. Convert PNG, JPEG, WebP, and SVG locally. Style short social strings with Unicode — with honest notes on accessibility and platform limits.
Editorial standards
We do not scrape other converters for body copy. Examples are original. Font “generators” are Unicode mappings, and we say so. Classroom ciphers (Caesar, ROT13, A1Z26) are labeled as toys, not encryption. When a format conversion is lossy (PNG transparency into JPEG), the page says so.
