Frequently asked questions
Is CaseSwitch free to use?+
Yes. Every tool on CaseSwitch is free with no account, subscription, or usage cap. You can convert text, format code, generate passwords, and convert images without signing up. We support the site through unobtrusive advertising.
Does CaseSwitch store my text?+
No. For the vast majority of tools, your input is processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. The homepage converter and notepad save drafts locally on your device using browser storage — that data never leaves your machine unless you copy it elsewhere.
What is the difference between sentence case and title case?+
Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence: "The quick brown fox." Title case capitalizes major words in a heading: "The Quick Brown Fox." Short words like "and," "the," and "of" often stay lowercase in the middle of a title depending on the style guide. Use sentence case for body copy and title case for headlines.
Can I use Unicode bold or italic text on social media?+
Yes. Unicode style generators output plain characters from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block. Instagram, Discord, TikTok, and WhatsApp display them as bold or italic on most devices. Results can vary by app version and font — always preview on the device you care about.
How do I fix text typed with Caps Lock on?+
Paste the text into the homepage converter and choose Sentence case to fix a full paragraph, or Lower case if you want everything lowercase. For mixed casing like "hELLO wORLD" (Caps Lock plus Shift on the first letter), use the Inverse Case Converter to swap every letter in one click.
What is camelCase used for?+
camelCase is the standard naming convention in JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, and JSON APIs. The first word is lowercase and each following word starts with a capital: userProfile, totalCount, isActive. Use our camelCase converter when migrating snake_case database columns or readable phrases into code-ready identifiers.
Do you have a mobile app or browser extension?+
CaseSwitch is a responsive website that works on phones, tablets, and desktops. You can add it to your home screen for quick access. A dedicated native app or browser extension may come later, but the web version already covers the full tool catalogue.
How can I suggest a new tool?+
Visit the Suggest a Tool page and email us your idea. Include what input the tool should accept, what output you expect, and whether it can run locally in the browser. We review requests regularly and prioritize utilities that fit the catalogue and can be built with privacy-first architecture.
Why does my Unicode bold text look different on another phone?+
Unicode decorative characters are not a real font — each app chooses how to render them. iOS, Android, and desktop clients may substitute different glyphs or fall back to plain letters. Keep bios and captions short, avoid mixing too many styles, and test on your target platform before publishing.
Can I use CaseSwitch offline?+
After your first visit, many pages work offline because tools run in the browser. You still need an internet connection for the initial page load. If you install CaseSwitch as a PWA from your browser menu, you get faster repeat access and better offline resilience.
Are the tools available in other languages?+
CaseSwitch supports nine languages for navigation, the homepage, and the FAQ page header. Tool guides, blog articles, and legal pages are primarily in English today. We are expanding translated content over time — the interface language selector is in the site header.
How do I support CaseSwitch?+
If you find the tools helpful, share CaseSwitch with a colleague or friend who formats text regularly. You can also support development through the Ko-fi link on the homepage. Positive word of mouth is the most valuable way to help the project grow.
