Lorem Ipsum Generator
Use the CaseSwitch Lorem Ipsum Generator to fill mockups with classic placeholder paragraphs. Set paragraph count and words per paragraph, optionally start with “Lorem ipsum,” then copy the filler into Figma or HTML. Generation runs in this browser — nothing is uploaded.

How to use
- Set Paragraphs and Words per paragraph (defaults 3 × 50 are fine for most mockups).
- Leave Start with Lorem ipsum on unless you want a fully random opening.
- Generate, copy, and replace the filler with real copy before launch.
What this tool is for
Designers and developers need gray bars made of letters so layouts can be judged without real client copy. This generator builds Latin-style nonsense paragraphs from a fixed word list, with controls for how many paragraphs and how many words each one contains. It is layout filler, not a translation of a real article and not publishable SEO content.
How it works
Paragraphs defaults to 3 (max 20). Words per paragraph defaults to 50 (min 10, max 200). When Start with Lorem ipsum is on (default), the first two words of the first paragraph are forced to “Lorem” and “ipsum”; every other word is drawn at random from a small classic list (dolor, sit, amet, …). Each paragraph is capitalized at the start and ends with a period. Paragraphs are separated by a blank line. Because later words are random, two clicks produce different bodies after the opening pair.
When to use it
Wireframes, print dummy pages, CMS theme development, checking column wrap at different paragraph lengths, and any mock where real product copy would distract stakeholders.
When not to use it
Do not ship lorem ipsum to production. Do not use it as SEO content — search engines treat filler as thin. Do not send it to a translator as if it were source text. Prefer the Repeat Text Generator when you need an exact phrase repeated, not varied nonsense.
How it compares to related tools
The Repeat Text Generator duplicates a string you already wrote. The Online Notepad stores your own draft locally. The Word Frequency Counter on lorem output is meaningless for content strategy. This page only creates multi-word placeholder paragraphs.
Common mistakes
Leaving “Lorem ipsum” in a live help center. Using it as the only content on a domain you want ad review to approve. Generating the maximum size just to inflate a page. Treating random draws as a stable fixture in screenshots without freezing the text you actually pasted.
Why the words look Latin but are not a translation
The traditional passage is scrambled from Cicero; this tool uses a short word list in that spirit. Sentences are not grammatical Latin. Treat the block as visual texture. If a stakeholder starts editing the Latin, replace it with real product language immediately.
Length, randomness, and screenshots
Because words after the opening pair are random, screenshot fixtures will drift unless you freeze the pasted string in your design file. Clamp paragraphs and words to what the layout needs — huge fills slow the tab and do not improve the critique. Empty generation still produces paragraphs from options alone; you do not need input text.
Frequently asked questions
Is lorem ipsum real Latin?+
It is scrambled filler inspired by a Latin passage, not a coherent essay. Treat it as visual gray bars made of letters.
Can I use this for published blog posts?+
No. Replace placeholders with original writing before you launch or request ad review.
Why does each click look different?+
After the optional “Lorem ipsum” opening, words are chosen at random from the built-in list. Freeze the paste in your mock if you need a stable screenshot.
What are the limits?+
Up to 20 paragraphs and 10–200 words per paragraph. Out-of-range values are clamped.
Does Start with Lorem ipsum affect every paragraph?+
No. Only the first two words of the first paragraph are forced when the option is on.
Is generation uploaded?+
No. Text is built in this browser. Still, do not publish the filler as real content.
Does CaseSwitch upload this text?+
No. Conversion, cleaning, and counting for this page run in your browser. Drafts are not sent to CaseSwitch for processing.
