What this tool is for
Upside Down Text lowercases input, substitutes each letter with an upside-down lookalike where available, then reverses the string so pasted text appears flipped in many feeds. Letters without twins (and many digits) stay awkward — keep phrases short and ASCII-simple.
How it works
The map replaces a with upside-down lookalikes, then reverses characters so hello reads as a flipped word when you tilt the phone. Unmapped symbols pass through and can break the illusion. Output is still left-to-right Unicode, not a true vertical transform.
When to use it
Prank replies, novelty bios, sticker text you will screenshot, and testing whether a chat client preserves unusual phonetic lookalikes.
When not to use it
Skip upside-down text for legal names, instructions, URLs, and anything a screen-reader user must understand. Do not flip passwords or codes you need to type later.

Common mistakes
Flipping a whole paragraph, mixing upside-down with fullwidth, expecting perfect digit flips, and pasting flipped text into forms that normalize or reject lookalikes.
Reverse plus substitute
The upside-down effect needs both lookalike substitution and reversing. If you only reverse ASCII, it will not look flipped; if you only substitute without reversing, reading order stays wrong.
Recovery is manual-ish
Unicode to Text can map some lookalikes back, but you often still need to reverse the string yourself to restore the original reading order.
